GIS Centre
The GIS Centre helps researchers and teachers to use geographic information systems (GIS) in a simple and efficient way. It is an organisation that contributes to collaboration between departments and between research and education.
Geographic information systems, GIS, are today an integral part of research and education in many subject areas, and the demand for digital map and GIS services is constantly increasing.
The Centre offers advice, software and databases for spatial data, as well as short courses and self-study materials. By bringing together expertise in GIS, cartography, geodesy, image processing and positioning, the GIS Centre functions as a resource for both education and research. Its activities are multidisciplinary and collaborate with all faculties, while also initiating and coordinating research projects and serving as a point of contact with external organisations.
Visit the GIS Centre’s website for more information about the GIS Centre’s services, courses and research projects.
